FGCM was founded in 2011 by Ian and Danni Johnson. Before starting the business, Ian came up through the trade as a fitter and moved through supervision to Area Manager with G&S Engineering Services — a national mechanical and electrical maintenance contractor with permanent operations in Biloela, Mackay and Brisbane.
He founded FGCM to deliver the same standard of shutdown and maintenance work from a locally owned business, on the doorstep of the operations it serves.

Reinstate the CV186 conveyor feeder following a fire. Harsh conditions, spontaneous combustion, a remote location, no available parts — and communications and power to the plant lost.
FGCM fabricated and rebuilt components to OEM specification, coordinated the civil works and used local presence for quick mobilisation. Site experience and offsite workshop support kept the restoration moving.
